Google Photos

Google photos is the proprietary software that provides the camera and gallery function on Android phones. It is free to use and is packed with all the features expected in the highest level of photography software. The CAMERA and GALLERY are accessed through two different apps.

The camera has full manual settings and a range of program modes that allow you to shoot everything from, video, portraits and even night photography.
The Google Photos gallery app has excellent editing options.

Grid lines can be switched on through the menu in the top right hand corner, to help with composition. The Pro mode that can be selected in the bottom program options menu, allows you to control Apertures, Shutter Speeds and ISO and even the basic exposure control is powerful. Tap the screen and a square appears, allowing you to control where the focus and exposure are read from. Slide your finger up and down on the screen and a sun icon will appear allowing you to change the exposure (this may vary slightly on different cameras for example Samsung is round and the slider left to right).
